Candy Factory - Knoxville, TN
Completed in 2007
Scope
The Candy Factory is a $10 million mixed-use development in historic World’s Fair Park in Knoxville, Tennessee. The significant building sits adjacent to the Waters of the World water feature and the Knoxville Museum of Art. The project includes ground floor retail with 47 residential condominiums.
Significance
The Candy Factory is just one part of Kinsey Probasco Hays’ and Cardinal Enterprises commitment to downtown Knoxville and the World’s Fair Park area. Situated within walking distance of the Historic Market Square, the campus of the University of Tennessee at Knoxville and Neyland Stadium, the Candy Factory is truly in the middle of it all. Kinsey Probasco Hays’ proposal was the only one of nine submitted that addressed uses for all the World's Fair Park structures, which include the World Famous Sunsphere, Candy Factory, Victorian Houses and Tennessee Amphitheater. The plan includes a mix of residential and commercial use.
