The 363-acre West Plant was originally constructed in 1920 and remained in operation for nearly seven decades until decommissioned in 1989 and later demolished.
The property is located within the City of Alcoa and Blount County and adjacent to McGee Tyson Airport and identified as a high priority by the City as a unique opportunity to establish a new business, retail, and civic hub.
Situated adjacent to Route 129 and Hall Road, the State of Tennessee has plans to rework Route 129 by directly linking the site to the airport and Route 129 with the proposed addition of a full cloverleaf interchange.
Alcoa City School System is located adjacent to the property and consistently ranks at or near the top of the state in value added scores as determined by each spring's TCAP testing. The campus includes K-12 grades.
Unique proximity to green public spaces including Springbrook Park, Pistol Creek and the Greenway Path System, which provides linkage on property to the Greenway Trail System of Alcoa and Maryville.
